Unlike the 46,000 citizen soldiers who helped rescue 80,000 people from Katrina and provided them food, water, shelter, and medical care, the news is gushing tears all over the fact that some yuppie singer was killed 25 years ago...Sorry, 25 years ago I had just come back from fleeing from an African country in the throes of a revolution, and couldn't care less if a boy whose paranoid schizophrenia was percipitated by his drug use killed a pop icon whose legacy is some good music and, alas, the promotion of drug use in his songs....as the Chippewa would say: What goes around comes around.Yes, I know this is a mindless predjudice, but I'm like my mother...once I was playing Wagner, and she made me stop...I asked why, since it was classic music...because it's Nazi music she replied and that was that.Wagner was not a Nazi, but Nazism thrived on his mythology. And Lennon's mythology of peace led to the boat people and the killing fields of Cambodia...and the Strawberry fields led to thousands if not millions of people trying drugs, with dire results to society...-----------------------yup, I know: Lighten up...gotta find a cup of coffee......coffee....
