three days darkness

 lots of the end of the era stuff out there.

I am reading about the smoke from Canada making it dim in parts of the USA... we saw this out west from fires, but it's rare in the east (I remember only one severe episode of this back in the 1960s) 

this happened in Europe when one Icelandic volcano went off a few years ago.

Extremely thick smoke from massive Canadian forest fires turned skies to dusk in the middle of the day in New England in 1780. A similar situation occurred in 1950.

Another similarly dark day occurred Oct. 19, 1762.,,

nah, they'll blame global warming of course.

uh oh: WE got another volcano starting to spew ash.

so is the prophecy of three days of darkness (where if you go outside you die) a variation on darkness from smoke from massive fires, or from volcanic ash?
