Snidely Whiplash update
I apologize for so many negative posts.
Here, things are bad. My granddaughter won a Junior Achievement contest, and her team is being given a free trip to Japan. But her father won't sign the paper to let her get a visa.
No, not because of safety issues: it is a power play.
To punish her for refusing to sign a paper letting him sell the rental property that my husband left her in his will. He says he needs money and has to sell it....
but it became an issue one week after Lolo put the proviso in his will... Lolo refused over and over again to sign papers to let him sell it, and now he is pressuring his daughter to sign the paper. Problem: I can't own land, but the property is listed as "for my beloved wife to enjoy" and it doesn't pass to her until I die. And of course the fact that the will still has to be probated and the deed changed is beside the point. He figures that, even though I was the one who arranged the probate and paid for the legal fees, that he will be the one to decide who gets what, and he will stipulate he should have control of the property.
It's not just a father/daughter problem
he also "spent" all of my husband's savings, which were at zero when he died...
5 million pesos (about 100 thousand dollars) disappeared over six years, plus of course the 3000 a month pension/ss that my husband got.
I suspect a lot of this disappeared in the last 18 months when Lolo was very weak and was starting to suffer from dementia due to his leukemia.
Court case is next month...
in effect, he made a slight error: If Ruby had gone to Japan, her mom probably would have gone with her, but now her mom and Ruby will be home when we take it to court and ask that he be removed as the one to probate the will.
and my husband's daughter were each supposed to get 20 thousand dollars from those savings: 20 thousand to the 2 daughters, 40 thousand to his son, leaving 20 thousand for my husband's funeral etc. expenses.
Joy arranged to sell corporation rice for the funeral, but I had to pay for the plot and the small house over the grave.
His son argues that Lolo wanted to be buried in a plain box with his mom, but that request was made before Chairman Leo, our cousin, and Rosa were buried in that plot, meaning it is getting crowded...
