this last one was canceled because it was a Filipina and had the usual hysterical enthusiasm. One of my exchange student from Spain had an uncle stationed in I believe Japan but mentioned in a conversation (probably with other family members) about an apparition in the Philippines which they shut down. He laughed about it.

There is politics in the church. Frank Sheed, a holy man and publisher, once commented that the definition of a saint was an Italian Virgin. Which is why that so called teenage computer nerd pushed by his mother and the Vatican was quickly made a saint, but if CHarlie Kird was a Catholic, nothing would be done.

Personally I am waiting for someone to mention that Ninoy and Cory Aquino should be made saints. But never mind. They saved the Philippines from communisim at a time when all the western missionaries here were writing essays in their mision magazines that the only choice was between Marcos Sr and communism. well, Ninoy risked his life and was killed to give a third choice, and Cory took his place and succeeded because of Cardinal Sin, the sisters at the convent where she stayed, and the beautiful lady in white who told Marcos soldiers not to shoot her people. (When asked later if that lady was Our Lady, or one of the nuns, Cardinal Sin quipped that he knew all the nuns with him and none of them were very good looking.

OH well.

This pope is busy letting heretics and those winking at sexual sin and leeting China destroy the Cahtolic church there is actually helping destroy Catholicism in the Philippines and latin America. He preaches save the environment and hold pachimama ceremonies, whereas the Evangelicals preach Jesus and practical advice on how to live a Christian life.
