Francis is pushing a schism. The press finally admits it

the episode (appointing cardinals with little consultation) illustrates how Francis has used his own distinct management style to try to shake up the Church since his election in 2013.
He is keeping his cards close to his chest as he tries to push through a progressive agenda to make the Church more welcoming in the face of conservative opposition.

Interviews with a dozen current and past Vatican officials and aides paint a portrait of Pope Francis, a Jesuit who turns 80 in December, as eschewing filters between him and the outside world. He carries his own black briefcase, keeps his own agenda, and makes many of his own calls.

stealth bombing comments to upset believing Christians on airplanes with the press, meaning they will be publicized as Catholic church's new morality, when in reality they are just his personal opinion (the pope is not "infallible" in his off the cuffs comments, but only when he proclaims a dogma or moral belief with roots into the early church and usually held by the church's members for years without being officially dogma).

But Reuters says this pope has a "mandate" to get rid of fuddy duddies who still believe in traditional dogma and morals. Uh, not really..

and it then goes on to document how Benedict's papacy "unraveled". Again a lot of this is twisting the real story, of how the non believers who masquerade as Catholics in the curia,got rid of him in order to get rich, launder money, or what is worse, change the church into a social work NGO without all those nasty rules.

the follow the money part is found lower in the article when it discusses how Cardinal Pell, who was rooting out corruption, was accused of being too uppity, and then voila, they dug up an old case where he "knew" of pedophilia 20 years ago. That didn't stop the Pope with Cardinal Daneels, where it was actually proven he covered up incestuous pedophilia, but never mind. Daneels put the Pope into office, with the help of the other German bishops.

Alas, the SJW dismiss it as another black help movie, meaning blacks only are in movies if they are help.

But actually the movie is not, nor is it a "happy happy" sentimental movie such as the nauseous Hallmark movies or the Nicholas Sparks movies (or most of them).

A nice movie on the surface, but under the surface is the question why this guy is cooking for them all those years (he was hired by the dying woman's dead boyfriend to cook for six months, her estimated time of death, but she lived for ten years). He said he was getting paid for this, but also mentioned he was getting a pension from the boyfriend after that. He is about 50 years of age, so there are questions about that.

But you know, my father once hired a single Polish immigrant in his fifties back in those days: The guy just could not get a job because of his age, but my father knew he could do the job. When the guy died, my father arranged the funeral. Sad. No family.

The only reason I can see is that the boyfriend knew this older gentleman and arranged the job and then the pension because he was an employee, and out of charity gave him a pension.

Turns out the guy not only continued to work for the family but used his pension to help support them.

One of the subtexts is that his life was his own, and no questions allowed. Later, the young girl finds a matchbook to a bar. Not much is said, but obviously he goes there to get drunk, and I suspect it is a gay bar, since he once "married but it didn't work".

The loneliness of gay men is something no one wants to talk about. The idea of gay marriage is to let them too find happiness, but alas, the promiscuity of the "lifestyle" works against them.

Just like the gender feminist ideology works against the lesbians who love each other, and lonely women who are bi but hurt by man.

Sigh. No I don't have an answer.

But I see the loneliness of my step son, but also the cruelty when he insists his wife put up with his open philandering "because that is what I am". I told him many times to do this quietly, or maybe even find a usual friend in Manila, but he prefers to hit on heterosexual young men, mainly employees, and sees no harm in this (uh, sexual exploitation of employees who are in dire poverty and can't say no is wrong in anne's book but his).

So his ostinancy will result in losing his family. And maybe his business, since his wife started a new business on her own and took most of his clients. This was because he changed how he grew rice and she wouldn't sell it as organic (when he took his boyfriend's advice and decided to use chemicals despite the fact it was labled organic.... to make more of a profit, and the boyfriend assured him that it's okay because everyone does it. Sigh).

And probably I will have to leave with them too. We all have been threatened to leave, but the lawyer assured us that legally he has to support his family (but not me). So I am waiting for the will, knowing I will have no "right" to stay here according to him, even though Philippine law allows the foreign spouse to stay in the property where they lived (foreigners can't own property).

Oh well. After being "thrown out" of Africa twice with little notice (i.e. leaving in a hurry because war broke out) I should be used to all of this.

Next week is the big holiday here when everyone visits the graves, and everyone goes to their home villages.

We should be meeting and celebrating with the relatives of Lolo, but he hates them too, alas. I still go to these parties, but have little to say since I am behind on who is working where.

 Early on Wednesday the Sydney Synod released the document, citing polling saying only 8 per cent of Anglicans supported gay marriages in churches.
Bishop Stead said the booklet would be "moderate and reasonable and non-defensive, and not narky or hysterical."
 The booklet suggests that if confronted by the argument that marriage has changed before -- such as the 1975 introduction of no-fault divorce -- its members should argue that such changes have not always been for the better. "The legal institution of marriage in Australia changed at that point and the result has been widespread infidelity and divorce. And this has come at a big cost -- emotional, psychological and economic.
 "We opposed those legal changes then, and we've been shown right to have done so.
 In the same way, we oppose the idea of "open" marriages (non-monogamous marriages), "throuples" (polyamorous marriages) and "same-sex marriages" today."​ ...
. If faced by the claim that same-sex marriage is "inevitable​", the booklet suggests members cite the rise and fall of​ communism as an example of where resistance to social trends has prevailed.
 "In the 1920s progressives proclaimed communism was inevitable in Australia. Then in the 1950s conservatives said a war on communism was inevitable. As it turned out, they were both wrong," the document says. "No one knows the future. ...
Insisting the Anglican Church is for equality, the booklet claims: "equality is not found in the removal of gender diversity in marriage...all that does is devalue someone's gender.
 "It advises opponents of same-sex marriage who feel "silenced" by supporters of change that they could be confronting bigots. "If you ever feel silenced because of your view, it may be the other person who is being the bigot," the church says.​​
 If faced with the issue of whether the public debate could lead to youth suicide, the pamphlet advises them to use respectful language, similar to that once used by Senator Penny Wong. "When Senator Penny Wong previously spoke in favour of the traditional definition of marriage (she has since changed her mind) she chose the following words: "On the issue of marriage I think the reality is there is a cultural, religious, historical view around that which we have to respect". These are calm, respectful words. " "They certainly aren't homophobic, given that she is a lesbian woman herself," the document says.

Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, president of the U.S. bishops' conference, responded to the leaked email exchange involving Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta.

WASHINGTON -- Following a leaked email from prominent political actors about a possible "Catholic Spring" movement to plant "seeds of the revolution" within the Church, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has rebuked interference in the Church and a political discourse that marginalizes the faithful and demeans women.
"There have been recent reports that some may have sought to interfere in the internal life of the Church for short-term political gain," said Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, the U.S. bishops' conference president. "If true, this is troubling both for the well-being of faith communities and the good of our country."
"In our faith and our Church, Christ has given us a precious gift. As Catholics, we hold onto our beliefs because they come to us from Jesus, not a consensus forged by contemporary norms," he said Oct. 13.
"We also expect public officials to respect the rights of people to live their faith without interference from the state," the archbishop continued. "When faith communities lose this right, the very idea of what it means to be an American is lost."
Archbishop Kurtz did not directly mention the controversy over a leaked email exchange from Feb. 10-11, 2012, between Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's current campaign manager, John Podesta, and Sandy Newman, president of the progressive organization Voices for Progress.
Newman appears to have initiated the email exchange, titled, "Opening for a Catholic Spring? Just musing." He cited the controversy over Catholic objections to mandatory coverage of contraception in employers' insurance plans, which would force Catholics to provide drugs, including some abortion-causing drugs, which they recognize as sinful and unethical.
"There needs to be a Catholic Spring, in which Catholics themselves demand the end of a middle ages [sic] dictatorship and the beginning of a little democracy and respect for gender equality in the Catholic Church," Newman said, asking whether contraception coverage could be a rally point for such a movement.
Newman told Podesta he has a "total lack of understanding of the Catholic Church," adding, "Even if the idea isn't crazy, I don't qualify to be involved, and I have not thought at all about how one would 'plant the seeds of the revolution,' or who would plant them. Just wondering ..."
Podesta's email suggested that two political organizations were intended for such advocacy.
"We created Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this. But I think it lacks the leadership to do so now," he said. "Likewise Catholics United. Like most 'Spring' movements, I think this one will have to be bottom up."
